The Governing Council of the University has approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Mulikat Olawanle Salaam as the new University Librarian. According to a letter of Appointment signed by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Bandele Oyewole, the Governing Council at its 74th statutory meeting held on December 21, 2012 approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Salaam as University Librarian. Her appointment takes effect from December 21, 2012 and it is for a term of five years. Until her appointment, Dr. (Mrs.) Salaam was the Acting University Librarian.
She is the third University Librarian, the pioneer being Dr. Taofiq Salisu, who was succeeded by Mr. Abayomi Agboola, now retired.
