FUNAAB Launches Artificial Intelligence Driven Research, Innovation Unit

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has launched the Artificial Intelligence Driven Research and Innovation Unit (AID-RIU) under the Information and Communication Technology Resource Centre (ICTREC), marking a significant step towards digital transformation and academic advancement.

AID-RIU is tasked with promoting cutting-edge research, innovation, capacity building, and ethical standards in the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence across the University. The establishment of the Unit aligns with FUNAAB’s vision of producing future-ready graduates and enhancing academic excellence through technology-driven initiatives.

According to a memo signed by Dr. Olutayo Ajayi, the Unit would offer the following benefits: AI training and capacity-building programmes, Pilot projects to enhance staff productivity and student learning, Access to AI resources and research support, Weekly AI tips and ethical guidance and Opportunities for collaboration and innovation.

AID-RIU is located within the ICTREC Building. For further enquiries, staff and students are encouraged to contact Dr. Olutayo Ajayi.
