FUNAAB Lights Up Ceremonial Road

Published On:

October 22, 2024

The Ceremonial Road at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has come to life with the recent installation of streetlights, marking a significant milestone in the University’s ongoing efforts to enhance campus infrastructure. Although these lights were installed as part of the 3MW Hybrid Solar Project, they are not standalone solar-powered units. Instead, they currently rely on electricity supplied by the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) or the central generators.

The temporary power source is part of the pre-commissioning phase of the solar project. The streetlights are being tested to ensure their functionality before the official commissioning of the solar plant. Once fully operational, the solar project would provide sustainable energy for the lights and other key facilities on campus.
