The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has matriculated 244 newly admitted students into its Part-Time Degree Programme (PTDP) today, December 18, 2025.

The ceremony, which took place at the Postgraduate School Auditorium, followed tradition, with Deans from the respective Colleges formally presenting the matriculating students in the established academic order.

Delivering the Opening Remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Olawale Dairo, extended hearty congratulations to the students on gaining admission to FUNAAB.

He applauded their resolve and dedication to self-improvement and career progression, noting that their choice of FUNAAB for higher education reflected their strong ambition for professional growth and scholarly achievement.

Prof. Kehinde acknowledged the unique hurdles part-time students often encounter, such as juggling studies with work and family obligations. He reassured them of the University’s ongoing commitment to delivering flexible, high-quality education that upholds rigorous academic standards.

The Vice-Chancellor also spotlighted FUNAAB’s esteemed status as a specialised University, urging the freshers to fully utilise the available academic facilities, support services, and administrative resources. He also called on them to embody the University’s foundational principles of excellence, integrity, and discipline.

Emphasising that the matriculation was far more than a ritual, the Vice-Chancellor described it as a solemn pledge to abide by the University’s rules and regulations. He advised the students to prioritise time management, exhibit exemplary academic behaviour, and build strong relationships with lecturers, academic advisors, and programme coordinators, while stressing that unfamiliarity with University policies would not excuse any violations.
