The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Professor Olusola Bandele Oyewole, has received with sadness, the untimely death of two students of the University.
They are: R. A. Babatunde and Aromire Sheriff, 100-level students in the Department of Water Resources Management, College of Environmental Resources Management (COLERM).
The sad event occurred in the evening of Friday, March 15, 2013, when a fast-moving vehicle knocked down the two students in the Isolu area, Alabata-Camp Road, Abeokuta.
However, the driver of the vehicle is not a lecturer or staff of the University, as is being speculated and erroneously reported in the media.
The Vice-Chancellor heartily commiserates with the parents of the deceased students, members of staff and the entire students of FUNAAB on this tragic loss.
He prays that their gentle souls rest in the bossom of the Lord.

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Professor Olusola Bandele Oyewole, has approved a two-day Lecture-Free Days on Monday, 18 and Tuesday, March 19, 2013.

The Lecture-Free Days is to honour the two students of the University that died in a ghastly motor accident in the Isolu area, Alabata-Camp Road, Abeokuta, on Friday, March 15, 2013.

Similarly, Management is embarking on the erection of speed-breakers on the Alabata-Camp Road, to ensure the safety of lives of motorists and pedestrians on the road.

Management enjoins members of the University Community and visitors, plying the road to bear with it while the construction work lasts.
