The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), in affiliation with the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH), Igboora, has recorded a huge milestone with the successful hosting of the maiden matriculation ceremony for the 2025/2026 Academic Session. The historic event, held today, November 28, 2025, marked the formal induction of the pioneer set of students into the FUNAAB-OYSCATECH Degree Programmes.
Delivering his address, the Vice-Chancellor of FUNAAB, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, warmly congratulated the fresh students, describing the ceremony as a significant step in their academic pursuit. He noted that matriculation represents more than a formal ritual; it is a rite of passage symbolising the beginning of a transformative journey enriched with learning, innovation, and personal growth.
Represented by the outgoing Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), who is currently the Vice-Chancellor of Aletheia University, Ago-Iwoye, Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, the Vice-Chancellor stressed FUNAAB’s commitment to excellence, global relevance, and service to humanity, adding that the University placed great value on nurturing integrity, creativity, and leadership in its students. He expressed appreciation to parents and guardians for their trust, assuring them that the institution remains dedicated to providing a supportive environment for their wards to thrive.
Prof. Kehinde also commended the Management of OYSCATECH, including the Rector, Prof. Akinola Akinlabi and other Principal Officers, as well as other officials, for their collaboration and commitment to the success of the affiliation.
The Vice-Chancellor encouraged the newly matriculated students to embrace the opportunities ahead with determination, focus, and discipline, as they begin their journey within the FUNAAB Academic Community.
The ceremony which was conducted by the Registrar, Dr. Titus Adeniyi, concluded with expressions of joy from students, families, and staff, marking a memorable beginning for the pioneer cohort of the FUNAAB-OYSCATECH Degree Programmes.
