The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has pledged the University’s full support for the successful take-off of the newly established Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Abeokuta (FUMMSA).
Prof. Kehinde gave the assurance during a courtesy visit by the Governing Council of FUMMSA to FUNAAB today, April 8, 2025.
Welcoming the delegation, the Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed FUNAAB’s commitment to providing infrastructural, academic and administrative support to ensure a smooth and seamless beginning for the fledgling medical university.

Federal was a strategic decision guided by its enabling law. He noted that the insight could serve as a valuable reference for FUMMSA as it charts its own developmental course.
In his response, the Vice-Chancellor of FUMMSA, Prof. Abiola Arogundade, expressed profound appreciation to Prof. Kehinde and the FUNAAB Management for their warm reception and willingness to collaborate. He described the support as a timely intervention that would significantly ease the foundational phase of FUMMSA’s establishment and operations.
Accompanying Prof. Arogundade were key members of FUMMSA’s Governing Council, including the Chairman, Dr. Usman Mohammed; Council members, Hon. Joshua Adewale and Hon. Kabiru Yahaya; Registrar, Dr. Olukayode Obayomi; Bursar, Mrs. Olufunso Adedokun; and the University Librarian, Dr. Idayat Agboola.
