The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has once again demonstrated its commitment to community development and moral re-orientation by presenting certificates to members of the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN) on October 15, 2025, following their successful completion of a Value-Added Training Programme on Rectitude and Moral Intelligence.
The initiative, organised by the Institute of Communication and General Studies (ICGNS), reflected the University’s resolve to strengthen Town and Gown relations and promote civic responsibility among key community stakeholders.

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, lauded the programme as a practical expression of FUNAAB’s core mandates of Teaching, Research, and Extension Services. He commended ICGNS for its proactive engagement with the community, noting that ACOMORAN had made history as the first external group to partner with the University under the moral intelligence initiative.
Speaking on the essence of the training, Prof. Emmanuel Akintona, Programme Leader of Philosophy and Leadership Studies, described it as a timely intervention aimed at addressing moral and ethical challenges confronting the nation.
Retired Hon. Justice Solomon Olugbemi also commended the University for sustaining its vision of community service and moral reawakening, while Dr. Uchenna Odozor appreciated the University Management for their support and commitment to value-based education.

The event culminated in the presentation of certificates to the participants, signifying their successful completion of the Moral Development Programme and reaffirming FUNAAB’s reputation as a citadel of learning that harmonises academic excellence with impactful community engagement.
