FUNAAB, Quan You Industry Partner to Enhance Education-Industry Ties

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has entered into a strategic partnership with Quan You Industry to advance the production of farm herbicides and pesticides.

Quan You Industry based in the Ogun Guangdong Free Trade Zone, the collaboration seeks to bridge the gap between academia and industry, fostering innovation and sustainable agricultural practices.

During the meeting held at FUNAAB, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, expressed the University’s commitment to making the project a resounding success.

Prof. Kehinde acknowledged the valuable support from China, which has facilitated numerous collaborations with FUNAAB. He highlighted the relationship between the University and its Chinese partners and welcomed the opportunity for further engagements that align with the institution’s vision for enhanced industry-academia cooperation.

Corroborating the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adeboye Fafiolu, Director of the Centre of Excellence in Agricultural Development and Sustainable Environment (CAEDESE), affirmed FUNAAB’s readiness to partner with Quan You Industry. He commended the University’s strong market credibility and its consistent delivery of high-quality agricultural products and services.

Earlier, speaking on behalf of Quan You Industry, Mr. Tom Zhao, a Director in the company, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership. He emphasised the mutual benefits of the collaboration and expressed gratitude for the warm reception by the University. Mr. Zhao conveyed optimism about future projects and the potential for deeper collaboration between both parties.

Meanwhile, the alliance was aimed at boosting the production of high-quality agricultural inputs, which is expected to have a positive impact on sustainable farming practices.
