The Registrar, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Dr. Titus Adeniyi, on September 16, 2025, delivered the 3rd Annual Registry Lecture of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo.
Speaking on the topic, “Etiquette in the Workplace: The Unseen Catalyst for Building Globally Competitive Institutions of Higher Learning,” Dr. Adeniyi underscored the importance of workplace etiquette and soft skills as vital tools for enhancing institutional excellence in the 21st century.
He noted that while academic and technical competences remain central to the university system, etiquette and professionalism serve as invisible catalysts for building institutions that can compete globally. According to him, cultivating exemplary workplace etiquette was not a secondary concern but a foundation for global relevance.
The lecture, which was held at the Modupe Alakija Lecture Hall, Faculty of Law, examined the hallmarks of globally competitive universities, the role of etiquette in university administration, and the expected standards of professional conduct among staff.
The well-attended event had in attendance Principal Officers of Ajayi Crowther University, including the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Timothy Adebayo, and the University Librarian, Dr. Bosede Ajiboye. Dignitaries from other universities were also present, including Registrars from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Osun State University (UNIOSUN), and Kola Daisi University, Ibadan.
FUNAAB was represented by a delegation led by the Chairman, Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), FUNAAB Chapter, Mr. Adewale Ojoye, alongside other members of the Association.
