A graduate student in the Department of Food Science and Technology, College of Food Science and Human Ecology (COLFHEC), Miss Ifeoluwa Olotu, had won the prestigious International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST) Food Safety without Borders Graduate Student Paper Award. Miss Olotu’s research which was titled, “Identification of Hazards and Critical Control Points for Mosa (an indigenous maize based street vended snack) Processing in South-West Nigeria”, won the award presented to her at the recently concluded IUFoST Congress in Montreal, Canada.

Miss Olotu, recently bagged her Master’s Degree, funded by the European Union GRATITUDE Project and was one of the four graduate students from developing countries that won.

Olotu is a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST), Society for Applied Microbiology (SfAM) and the American Society of Quality and Young Professionals in Agricultural Research for Development (YPARD).
