The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kolawole Salako has charged the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN,) to use its good offices, to appeal to the Federal Government for the restoration of the College of Management Sciences (COLMAS) to the University. The Vice-Chancellor made the appeal while receiving the President of ANAN, Prof. Muhammad Mainoma and members of ANAN, who visited the University.

The Vice-Chancellor, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Clement Adeofun, noted that if with the intervention of ANAN and other bodies, COLMAS was restored, it would be a win-win situation for the University and members of staff, who are ANAN members and are willing to further their studies in the profession. The Vice-Chancellor described the relationship between FUNAAB and ANAN as old as the University itself, noting that the University was among the very first institutions to establish good collaboration with ANAN. The Vice-Chancellor also thanked the association for donating to FUNAAB, the “ANAN Building”, assuring that the University was making good use of the structure.

The President of ANAN, Prof. Mainoma appreciated the Vice-Chancellor for hosting his team. He disclosed that learning remained a common link between FUNAAB and ANAN, as everything about both organisations revolved around learning. He promised the Vice-Chancellor that the University had not lost out on the issue of COLMAS, stressing that virile agriculture requires a lot of accounting.
