The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), through its Central Laboratory and Biotechnology Centre, is set to host the FUNAAB Biotechnology Education Quiz Challenge 2026, a week-long academic programme aimed at promoting excellence, innovation, and capacity building in biotechnology education.
Scheduled to hold from Monday, February 2 to Friday, February 6, 2026, the Quiz Challenge would bring together Senior Secondary School students and undergraduates from various institutions to demonstrate their knowledge, practical competence, and problem-solving skills in key areas of biotechnology. The competition is designed to deepen participants’ understanding of contemporary and emerging issues in the field, while fostering healthy academic rivalry and collaboration.
According to a memo issued by the Director, Central Laboratory and Biotechnology Centre, Prof. Ayotunde Adebambo, activities for the programme would unfold as follows:
🔺 Monday, February 2, 2026: Opening Ceremony and Written Examination (Objective and Theory)
🔺 Tuesday–Thursday, February 3–5, 2026: Practical Assessments, including DNA Extraction, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), Gel Electrophoresis, and related techniques
🔺 Friday, February 6, 2026: Oral Presentations and Prize-Giving Ceremony.
The opening ceremony is expected to attract members of the University Community, stakeholders, and invited guests, offering a platform to showcase FUNAAB’s sustained commitment to scientific education, innovation, and human capacity development.
