… As DUFARMS Rolls Out Bumper Harvest

It was a bustling scene once again at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) AGROMAT, today, July 14, 2025, as enthusiastic staff stormed the venue to take advantage of the ongoing sales of farm-fresh produce from the Directorate of University Farms (DUFARMS).

The sales, featuring freshly harvested maize, vegetables, groundnuts and processed garri drew staff from all spheres within the University. With products offered at pocket-friendly prices, the AGROMAT became a lively hub of economic activity, showcasing FUNAAB’s agricultural prowess and commitment to promoting food security.

Speaking at the event, the Ag. Director, DUFARMS, Dr. Emmanuel Bankole, expressed satisfaction with the turnout and the quality of this season’s yield. He affirmed the Directorate’s readiness to meet the food needs of the entire University Community, stating that more bumper harvest is expected in the coming days.

Also present at the event was the Head of Crops, Mr. Femi Solarin, alongside DUFARMS staff and members of the University Community, who all contributed to the successful purchase of the farm produce.

With the drive, DUFARMS has continued to reinforce FUNAAB’s position as a leading agricultural institution championing food sufficiency and sustainable farming practices.
