The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Staff School has taken a giant leap in infrastructural excellence, proudly unveiling a refreshing new look that reflects the visionary leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde.

Renovated Nursery 1 class

The recently completed facelift was more than a mere renovation, it was a deliberate investment in the school’s future and its young learners. Spearheaded by the current administration, the transformation featured routine maintenance and an extensive beautification drive, resulting in a more vibrant and conducive learning environment for children.

The passage wearing a new look

The walls and perimeter fence now wear a brilliant splash of artistic and educational murals, carefully designed to stimulate creativity and curiosity. The newly painted classrooms, adorned with engaging diagrams and child-friendly themes, further brighten the academic atmosphere and complement the school’s mission to deliver quality foundational education.

Renovated Nursery 2 class

In addition, a brand-new, roofed recreational centre has been constructed, ensuring pupils can play and relax under adequate shelter, shielded from the sun and rain. The thoughtful provision addresses both physical well-being and the cognitive development of the children, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 3 (Good Health and Wellbeing) and SDG 4 (Quality Education).

Upgraded KG1 class

During a recent visit by the FUNAAB Bulletin, the Head Teacher of the school, Mrs. Florence Alade, highlighted another critical upgrade, which was the installation of burglary-proof structures around the Nursery section. Approved by the Vice-Chancellor himself, the added security measure guarantees better protection for the children and tighter access control, giving parents peace of mind.

Reception class wearing a new beautiful look

“These improvements were carried out during the last vacation, and the excitement on the faces of parents, pupils, and staff upon resumption was simply priceless,” Mrs. Alade shared enthusiastically. “In fact, we recorded an increase in enrolment with six new pupils joining us this term, drawn in by the evident transformation.”

She expressed her profound appreciation to the University Management for its proactive leadership and unwavering support, singling out the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and the Chairman of the FUNAAB Schools Management Board, Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, for his exceptional commitment.

Another view of the corridor

According to Mrs. Alade, both Prof. Kehinde and Prof. Akinyemi are “lovers of children and father figures” whose foresight and care continue to shape the school into a model of excellence within and beyond the University Community.

Upgraded school playground

Indeed, the aesthetic transformation of the FUNAAB Staff School was not just a renovation, it was a declaration that the future of education begins with a beautiful, safe, and inspiring environment. Meanwhile, enrolment into the school is still ongoing for all the classes.
