… Introduces CBT for Primary Six

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Staff School, today, July 22, 2026, celebrated academic excellence and outstanding achievements at its 2026 Prize-Giving Ceremony, with the introduction of Computer-Based Testing (CBT) for Primary Six pupils marking another milestone in the school’s drive towards digital education.
In his Message to the school as the Father of the Day, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, commended the pupils for their remarkable display of talents. He noted that their performances reflected the quality of education being offered at the Staff School and expressed delight over the introduction of CBT, describing it as evidence of the school’s commitment to preparing pupils for future academic realities.
The Vice-Chancellor, who was represented by the Director, Directorate of Academic Planning (DAP), Prof. Biodun Badmus, encouraged parents to enrol their children in FUNAAB International School (FUNIS) immediately, explaining that the institution was established as a feeder school to the University. Prof. Badmus who also represented the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic and the Chief Host, Prof. Olusegun Idowu, noted that many former pupils had successfully progressed through the International School into FUNAAB, where they continued to excel academically. He appreciated the parents, the Head Teacher and members of staff for their dedication to nurturing the children and prayed that they would reap the rewards of their labour.
Speaking as Chairman of the Day, the Surveyor-General of Ogun State, Mr. Ebenezer Ewulo, disclosed that all his children attended FUNAAB Staff School. He described the school as exceptional, applauding the remarkable improvements in its facilities, academic standards and overall development. He also commended the Vice-Chancellor for providing purposeful leadership that had continued to reposition the school for greater achievements.
Earlier, the Headteacher, Mrs. Florence Alade, described the achievements recorded during the 2025/2026 Academic Session as a reflection of hard work, dedication and God’s faithfulness. She expressed profound appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor for his visionary leadership and prompt approval of requests that had continued to enhance the growth and development of the Staff School.
She also acknowledged the support of the Chairman of the FUNAAB Schools’ Management Board, Prof. Olusegun Idowu, members of the Board, the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), parents and guardians, as well as the Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff, whose collective commitment, she noted, had contributed immensely to the academic excellence and moral upbringing of the pupils.
Highlighting the school’s accomplishments, Mrs. Alade disclosed that pupils recorded impressive performances in academics, sports and entrance examinations into FUNIS. She also announced that Computer-Based Testing (CBT) had been introduced for Primary Six pupils as a strategic initiative to equip learners with essential digital skills for the 21st century. Congratulating the graduating pupils, she urged them to remain worthy ambassadors of the school, noting that the annual Prize-Giving Ceremony was organised to celebrate excellence, diligence and holistic development through the recognition of outstanding pupils, dedicated staff and supportive parents.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of awards to outstanding pupils across all classes. Dignitaries at the event included former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Kola Adebayo; former Ag. Registrar, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Dawodu; Ceremonials Committee Chairperson, Prof. Temitope Ajadi; Ag. Director, Directorate of Internal Audit, Mr. Kehinde Ajayi; representative of the Director of Health Services, Dr. David Adedeji; and Prof. Olusegun Oladoye, who represented the Special Guest of Honour, among many others.
