The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Staff School recently hosted its Annual Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Day, aimed at igniting young minds’ interest in technology and introducing them to potential careers in Computer Science and related fields.
In her opening remarks, the Head Teacher of the school, Mrs. Florence Alade, encouraged the pupils to cultivate innovative ideas and develop a passion for ICT. She emphasised the pivotal role of technology in shaping the future, urging them to seize the opportunities it offers with determination and enthusiasm.
The event featured a range of engaging activities designed to enhance pupils’ understanding of ICT. A Talk by Mr. Adegbayi Kusimo provided an overview of computer components, while a recitation of the Computer Alphabet highlighted the pupils’ growing grasp of ICT concepts. Additionally, a captivating video presentation on the evolution of computers offered an insightful journey through the milestones of technological advancement.
A major highlight of the celebration was a lively quiz competition that brought together pupils from Primary Two to Primary Six. The quiz tested their knowledge of ICT concepts, sparking excitement and friendly rivalry. The victorious teams received prizes amidst cheers and celebration, fostering a spirit of achievement and motivation.
The ICT Day was a resounding success, offering young learners a platform to explore the limitless possibilities of technology while inspiring them to pursue dynamic careers in the ever-evolving ICT sector.
