As part of activities marking the end of the 2024/2025 Academic Session, pupils of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Staff School embarked on an enlightening familiarisation tour of the University, designed to broaden their academic horizons and inspire future career aspirations.
Led by the Head Teacher, Mrs. Florence Alade and the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr. Jide Oduyemi alongside Dr. Abidemi Ojo and Mrs. Mary Adeyemo, the enthusiastic pupils commenced the tour with a special courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, in his office.

Prof. Kehinde warmly welcomed the pupils, lauding the initiative as a meaningful way to introduce young minds to the world of higher education. He encouraged them to explore the campus with curiosity and enthusiasm, assuring them of the University’s commitment to nurturing future leaders. The Vice-Chancellor also prayed for their safety and well-being during the upcoming holiday.
The highlight of the visit was the presentation of a hand-drawn portrait of the Vice-Chancellor by a pupil, Master Joseph Opakunle. Deeply touched by the artwork, Prof. Kehinde commended Joseph’s artistic skill and responded with a heartfelt token of appreciation.
Delivering the Vote of Thanks, the Head Boy, Master Folayan Alayode, expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for his warm reception and inspiring words.

The pupils’ itinerary included stops at key University facilities such as the University Library, the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology Services (DICTS), the Directorate of Academic Planning, and the Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies (CENTS). They also participated in a live session at FUNAAB Radio and visited the Career Fair Exhibition organised by the Career Services and Linkages Unit.
The tour proved to be a transformative experience, offering the young learners a glimpse into university life and motivating them to dream big and pursue excellence.
