Mr. Aanu Damola Morenikeji, a 200-Level student in the Department of Plant Physiology and Crop Production, College of Plant Science and Crop Production (COLPLANT), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has won the Ogun State 2012 Youth Award for Excellence in Health and Community Service.
Mr. Morenikeji, who is the State Youth Coordinator, Nigeria Red Cross Society, Ogun State Chapter was nominated for the award, under the Health and Community Service category for his enormous contributions to health-related projects and voluntary community services.
The multi-talented undergraduate is a creative writer with over five story books to his credit. He is the founder and Executive Coordinator of the Network for Talent Discovery (NETAD), an organization that is committed to talent discovery and development.
He is also a recipient of the “Life Changer’s Rising Star Award” in the United Kingdom, in November 2011; “Integrity Practitioner Award” by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC), in January 2010.
Reacting to the award, Mr. Morenikeji expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bandele Oyewole and the entire University community for their support, prayers and encouragement while promising to continue to be a worthy ambassador of his family, the University and the nation at large.
