… As Mr. Salihu Becomes Affiliate Member of IHSAN
The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has once again demonstrated excellence on the national stage, as a team from the University emerged among the top 10 finalists at the Hack4Livestock Hackathon, a groundbreaking innovation challenge designed to revolutionise Nigeria’s livestock sector through technology. The event was held from May 19 to May 22, 2025.
Organised by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy (FMCIDE), under the leadership of Dr. Bosun Tijani, in collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), AI Collective, and other key partners, the hackathon attracted 497 entries from across the country.
FUNAAB’s Team, named ANiMeDRig, impressed the panel of judges with their innovative agri-tech solution. The Team was led by Prof. Ayotunde Adebambo, Director, BIotechnology Centre, alongside Dr. Ayorinde Olanipekun of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Dr. Oladele Oladeji of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management.
Their outstanding performance not only earned national recognition but also paved the way for potential collaborations with developers, stakeholders, and government agencies.
The Team expressed deep appreciation to Dr. Bosun Tijani, NITDA, AI Collective, and all sponsors for their visionary support. They also extended gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde for the opportunity to showcase FUNAAB’s innovation capacity at such a prestigious platform.
In a related development, Mr. Muhammod-Rabiu Salihu, Senior Chief Medical Records Officer and Head of the Medical Records Unit, FUNAAB Health Services, was recently inducted as an Affiliate Member of the Institute of Health Service Administrators of Nigeria (IHSAN).
Mr. Salihu, who is also a Fellow of the Healthcare Informatics Society of Nigeria (FHIS), was formally inducted during the 40th National Professional Development Workshop and Induction Ceremony of the Institute, held at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
His induction marks yet another milestone in his professional journey and reflects FUNAAB’s continued commitment to excellence across academic, technological, and healthcare sectors.
