The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has initiated talks with HelloBikee and Lotus Bank to enhance mobility within the campus.
During a meeting with the University Management today, December 30, 2024, Mr. Ahmad Opeifa, Co-founder of HelloBikee, stated that the project would involve the introduction of Electric Bikes, known as e-bikes, to facilitate transportation within the campus.
Corroborating Mr. Oyewole, the Team Lead of Lotus Bank, expressed readiness to collaborate with FUNAAB in promoting mobility using e-bikes. He emphasised that one of Lotus Bank’s goals was to impact lives.
In the meantime, HelloBikee would be responsible for supplying the electric bikes, while Lotus Bank would provide financial backing for the project. The initiative was set to primarily benefit students and staff of the University.
Present at the meeting were the Director, Centre of Excellence in Agricultural Development and Sustainable Environment (CEADESE), Prof. Adeboye Fafiolu; Deputy Registrar II, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Mr. Moses Ayanda; Mrs. Aderonke Chukwueleme from Lotus Bank; Mr. Ayodeji Oyenekan, Co-founder, HelloBikee; Mr.Tayo Adebayo, Financial Consultant at HelloBikee, and representatives of the FUNAAB Student Union led by their President, Comrade Ibraheem Adeyemi.
