In a bid to promote sustainable agriculture and entrepreneurship, the WAFROEX-FUNAAB Beekeeping Academy, in partnership with GoldSwarm, is set to host a comprehensive One-Day Introductory Course in Apiculture and Beekeeping Value Chain Fundamentals at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
Scheduled for Wednesday, April 9, 2025, the training would take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Green Chamber. The programme was specially designed to empower aspiring beekeepers and agripreneurs with the knowledge and practical skills required to excel in the apiculture industry.
Participants would be introduced to the fundamentals of beekeeping and hive management, benefit from hands-on field training, and learn how to run profitable beekeeping enterprises using modern technologies and innovations in the field.
According to the organisers, attendees are expected to be well-presented and are advised to come along with farm boots if they have any. Writing materials and protective gear for the field practical session will be provided. Participants are also required to present a valid ID for access to the venue and for the issuance of Certificates of Completion at the end of the training.
The course promises to be a transformative learning experience, contributing to the development of skilled professionals in Nigeria’s growing apiculture value chain.
