The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) would tomorrow host the official kick-off and stakeholders’ ceremony of the Sexual Harassment in Tertiary Institutions (SHITI) Project in Ogun State.
According to a memo signed by the Principal Investigator of the project, Prof. Remi Aduradola, the event aims to launch a research-based intervention initiative focused on strengthening awareness, prevention, reporting mechanisms, and institutional responses to sexual harassment across tertiary institutions in the State.
The Principal Investigator, also the Director, Institute of Communication and General Studies (ICGNS), noted that the SHITI Project is designed to promote safer, more inclusive, and conducive learning environments for students and staff through evidence-based research, stakeholder collaboration, and digital innovation.
The kick-off ceremony would bring together key stakeholders from the education sector, government agencies, civil society organisations, and other partners to deliberate on sustainable strategies for addressing sexual harassment in tertiary institutions.
The event is scheduled to hold tomorrow, July 22, 2026, at Auditorium 2, College of Veterinary Medicine (COLVET) Building, FUNAAB, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Participants are expected to engage in discussions that would lay the foundation for the successful implementation of the project across Ogun State.
