The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), is set to showcase its first intelligent cattle-feeding robot at a TETFund National Research Fund (NRF) Workshop scheduled to hold on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at the Centre of Excellence in Agricultural Development and Sustainable Environment (CEADESE) Lecture Theatre, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

The workshop, themed “Robotic Ranching System: An Intelligent Feeding Mechanism for Enhanced Cattle Production in Nigeria,” would highlight a major breakthrough in agricultural technology with the unveiling of the institution’s pioneering robotic feeding system.

During the workshop, it would be demonstrated how automation and smart technologies can revolutionise livestock management in Nigeria, with the intelligent cattle-feeding robot serving, as the centrepiece of the event. The innovation is designed to improve efficiency, reduce manual labour, and enhance productivity in cattle production, further positioning the University as a leader in cutting-edge agricultural research and innovation.

It is expected to attract researchers, agricultural experts, policymakers, and key stakeholders interested in advancing sustainable and technology-driven farming practices.
The workshop forms part of TETFund-supported initiatives aimed at promoting impactful research that addresses pressing challenges in Nigeria’s agricultural sector, particularly through the deployment of intelligent systems to improve livestock production.
