The University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. KolawoleSalako has declared full scale war on elements who indulge in the “get-rich-quick” rituals, otherwise known as ‘Yahoo Plus’.

Addressing Baales and Chiefs (Community Leaders) of Isolu/Emere-Atadi host areas, the Vice-Chancellor charged them to go after people with questionable characters, especially students and youths who indulge in “yahoo-yahoo”  and get rich rituals and expel such from their midst.

Prof. Salako said his Management, Police and other security agencies can’t do it alone, stressing that the full cooperation of the traditional leaders of the host communities is much needed to exterminate ‘Yahoo boys’ from the University’s vicinity and the society at large.

Head, Baales and Chiefs Isolu/Emere-Atadi Land, Chief Mahdiu Sabitu-Iredele assuring the University Management of their support and cooperation.

Known for his hard stance against social malaise, the Vice-Chancellor disclosed that FUNAAB has zero tolerance for indulgence in social vices, especially the popular “Yahoo Plus” which involves shedding of blood of innocent victims.

Shortly after his assumption of office, Prof. Salako had spearheaded a concerted communal effort which led to the construction of a Police Post at the University’s neighbouring Harmony Estate and its environs.

The construction of the Police Post which spurred effective community policing of the Estate and its surrounding has   reduced the operations of Yahoo Boys and other bad eggs in the vicinity.

Realising however, that Yahoo Boys are still lurking around, the Vice-Chancellor during the parley with Community Leaders who came to thank him for rehabilitating the deplorable Camp/Alabata Road used the occasion to charge his guests to join hands with him in flushing them out of the University environment.
