The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, on September 22, 2025, honoured the invitation of the Chinese Consul General in Lagos, Ms. Yan Yuqing, to the 76th anniversary celebration of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

The colourful reception, held at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos, brought together diplomats, government officials, captains of industry, and representatives of academic institutions to celebrate China’s remarkable journey of growth and development.

For the Vice-Chancellor, the event provided an opportunity to further strengthen ties with the Consul General, while also networking with strategic stakeholders in education, trade, and international cooperation.

Prof. Kehinde, who was represented at the event by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi noted that FUNAAB remained committed to fostering global partnerships, particularly with China, in areas such as research, innovation, and agriculture, in line with the University’s motto of knowledge for development.

On the Vice-Chancellor’s entourage were the Dean, Students Affairs, Prof. Festus Adeosun; Head of Department, Animal Production and Health, Prof. Lawrence Egbeyale and Mr. Johnson Olukehinde.
