Hypertension, commonly known as high blood pressure, is often referred to as the “silent killer” because it may show no symptoms until it has caused significant damage to vital organs such as the heart, kidneys, or brain. It affects one in four adults, and is the number one risk factor for death globally.
In our tenth Webinar series, “Understanding High Blood Pressure: The A, B, C of Hypertension,” Dr. O. A. Oduwole, Coordinator of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) at FUNAAB’s Directorate of Health Services, will educate participants in layman’s terms on the essentials of hypertension. This includes its detection, management, and potential complications. By the end of the webinar, attendees will have a clear understanding of how to effectively monitor and control high blood pressure to improve their overall health.
By following the A, B, C of hypertension, individuals can significantly reduce their risk of serious health complications and improve their quality of life.
