A high powered delegation from the Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) led by their Registrar, Prof. Wale Okunuga today, February 5, 2024, paid a Courtesy Visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde in his Office to mark the commencement of the week-long 2024 Moderation of Test Items Exercise.
During the meeting at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, JUPEB’s Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Okunuga, expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for hosting the Exercise in FUNAAB.

Prof. Okunuga emphasised the annual nature of the Exercise, focusing on the generation and standardisation of Test Items.
At the Opening Ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor welcomed the JUPEB team to FUNAAB, recalling his involvement when the Institute was formed in 2013, during his tenure as the Director, Institute of Human Resources Development (INHURD).
He expressed pride in FUNAAB’s recognition as the “Best University of Agriculture in Africa and the 7th Best in the world” by the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking (WUR).

Acknowledging the significance of the Moderation Exercise, Prof. Kehinde urged everyone present to actively contribute to its success.
In his Address, Prof. Okunuga outlined the procedures for the 2024 Moderation Exercise, including the Test Items, writing panels, material distribution, information dissemination, marking criteria for essays and practical items, computer-based item editing, and item submission.

He appreciated FUNAAB’s hospitality and commitment and expressed hope for the success of the Exercise in the University.
Prof. Okunuga, therefore, highlighted the importance of the Exercise, stating that it would enrich the Question Bank, that would ensure a smoother process when actual exams were conducted.
