The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), through its College of Environmental Resources Management (COLERM), is set to host the maiden edition of its International Conference from April 26 to 29, 2026. The Conference, themed “Transdisciplinary Resource Management for Sustainable Environmental Resilience in Emerging Economies,” aims to foster innovative approaches to addressing environmental challenges in developing nations.
According to the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC), Prof. Omotola Jayeola, the Conference is organised to bring together scholars, industry experts, and policymakers to deliberate on sustainable environmental practices and effective resource management strategies. He noted that the event would provide a robust platform for knowledge sharing and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Prof. Jayeola further disclosed that the Conference would feature seven sub-themes, reflecting the diverse academic programmes within COLERM. He added that the initiative was in sync with the University’s strategic priorities of promoting academic excellence, innovation, and community engagement.
Activities scheduled for the four-day conference include an Opening Ceremony at the Red Chamber and Technical Sessions at a designated venue, where participants would engage in plenary presentations and breakout discussions.
The LOC expressed optimism that the Conference would facilitate meaningful intellectual exchange, strengthen research collaborations, and position FUNAAB as a leading centre for innovation and scholarship in Environmental Resource Management.
