The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta International School (FUNIS) marked the 2025 International Children’s Day with a vibrant and activity-packed celebration at the school’s Male Dining Hall.

The international event marked annually on May 27 and celebrated at FUNIS on May 31, 2025, commenced with an Opening Prayer, followed by the rendition of the National and School Anthems. A colourful parade by the junior students officially opened the day’s activities, setting the stage for an engaging lineup of events aimed at promoting creativity, unity, and academic excellence.

The programme featured a variety of performances, including singing and dance presentations, as well as a cultural performance that highlighted the richness of Nigerian heritage. Students actively participated in stimulating competitions such as the scavenger hunt, dancing competition, food competition, and bunkmate challenge.

Interactive segments such as “Who Sang It?”, “Finish the Lyrics”, “Question and Answer”, and the blindfold challenge were particularly engaging, encouraging teamwork, spontaneity, and fun among the students. Additional excitement was provided by the Best Friend Challenge and multiple rounds of senior and junior parades that showcased school spirit and unity.

Present at the event were the Principal, Mr. Olusola Ilori; Ag. Head, Directorate of Public Relations, Mr. Olasunkanmi Olajide; Financial Secretary, PTA, Mrs. Titilayo Bilewu, as well as several other parents and guardians, including many of the teachers.

The celebration concluded with a Vote of Thanks, bringing to a close a memorable day that reflected FUNIS’s continued commitment to fostering a well-rounded educational experience for its students.
