The son of a former Governor of Ogun State, who is now a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing the Abeokuta North, Odeda and Obafemi Owode Federal Constituency, Honourable Olumide Osoba, had commissioned a total of 110 Laptops donated to the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), as part of NCC’s Advanced Digital Access Programme for Tertiary Institutions (ADAPTI), under the Schools’ Support Project, which is designed to provide support flexibility and mobility in the use and application of ICT in teaching, learning and research.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Oyewole, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Toyin Arowolo, thanked Honourable Osoba for remembering ‘home’ within the little time he had spent in office.
He however, requested for more of such gesture from Hon. Osoba, promising that the University will put the laptops into good use. Responding, Hon. Osoba thanked the Vice-Chancellor and the Management of the University for the opportunity given to him to commission the laptops, especially as he facilitated the donation.
He noted that FUNAAB was like an alma mater to him.
