As part of the statutory oversight functions of the House of Representatives, the Committee on Agricultural Colleges and Institutions paid a visit to the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) on September 13, 2021 to review and monitor the disbursement of government funds to the University.
The Honourable members of the Committee who were taken on a field tour of facilities, including research and production units in the University by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Felix Kolawole Salako, were impressed after seeing production facilities at FUNAAB Enterprises. The FUNAAB Alpha-Chickens, and the TETFund-supported Guinea fowl projects were among places visited. Also, they inspected the array of farm machinery at the Directorate of Farms (DUFARMS).
The team was highly impressed about what they saw in places visited, making valuable suggestions on how the University can improve on its mandate.
The Honourable members were led by the Chairman, Hon. Munir Baba Dan Agundi. Members included Hon. Sam Onugbo; Hon. Odebunmi Olusegun; Hon. Adebayo Balogun and Hon. Lawan Lenken, Hon. Taofeek Ajilesoro; Hon. Awajnomabk Abiank; Hon. Henry Archibong and the Clerk of the Committee, Mrs Olunike Adesina-Obube.
