The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Salako has disclosed that the welfare and progress of members of staff and the entire University are topmost in his priority list. He added that he will not witch-hunt anybody, will be fair to all but will not compromise on issues of discipline.
Professor Salako made this disclosure while receiving alumni of his Alma Mater, University of Nigeria, Nsukka also referred to as Lions and Lionesses who paid a Courtesy Call on him and the Bursar, Mr. Chukwunwike Ezekpeazu.
The Vice-Chancellor who called for the unalloyed commitment and dedication of every member of staff said that he is ready and willing to work with every stakeholder of the University towards making FUNAAB greater than what it is.
Professor Salako thanked the Alumni for their good wishes and support, even as he pleaded for more support and prayers for the progress of the University.
Earlier in his remarks, Professor David Agboola who spoke on behalf of the Alumni stated that the aim of the visit was to felicitate with their fellow UNN Alumni on their appointments as the Sixth Substantive Vice-Chancellor and Bursar, respectively, of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, and to assure them of the prayers and support of the Alumni.
He affirmed that the Alumni will continue to support the administration by providing qualitative service in their various Units, Departments and vocations for the success of the System.
Professor Agboola disclosed that the Alumni had watched with great admiration the successive progression of Professor Salako since joining the University till his appointment to the exalted office of the Vice-Chancellor. He enjoined him to always place God at the helm of all his affairs and seek God’s protection over himself, the University and its entire staff.
