The International Foundation for Science has approved an application submitted by the University’s Director of Grants Management, Dr. Kolawole Adebayo and awarded him a grant of $14, 960. Dr. Adebayo’s study, which won the grant is titled, Farmer Decisions and Potential Adoption of Recommended Practices in the Rural-based Cocoyam Value Chains of Sub-Saharan Africa.

His first IFS grant was utilized to carry out an examination of “the dynamics of the technology adoption process in rural-based cassava processing systems in southwest Nigeria between 2004 and 2006”, while his second IFS grant was used to “explore the potential adoption and profitability of the cassava peeler in the cassava processing systems of southwest Nigeria between 2008 and 2011”. Dr. Adebayo is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, College of Agricultural Management and Rural Development (COLAMRUD).
