In a renewed effort to reinforce discipline and uphold institutional values, the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has intensified its campaign against indecent dressing on campus.
With the Second Semester Examinations for the 2024/2025 Academic Session fast approaching, students have been strongly advised to be mindful of their appearance, not only in lecture halls but throughout the University environment.
The renewed enforcement, described as the “full implementation” of the University’s existing policy on indecent dressing, aimed to promote a culture of respect, focus, and academic seriousness, especially during the examination period.
As part of the enforcement measures, any student violating the approved Dress Code may be denied access to Examination Halls and Centres. In more severe cases, offenders risk being referred to the Student Disciplinary Committee for appropriate sanctions.
Speaking on the initiative, the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Festus Adeosun, clarified that the campaign was not intended to be punitive, but rather corrective. According to him, the policy was designed to help instil values that will serve students beyond their time on campus. He urged students to remain dedicated to their studies, stay within their hostels, and avoid distractions that could jeopardise their academic success.
The implementation of this policy underscores FUNAAB’s unwavering commitment to excellence in both character and learning. As examinations approach, the University reminds all students that discipline remains a cornerstone of its academic tradition.
