In a strategic move to enhance the employability of Nigerian graduates, Jobberman, West Africa’s foremost recruitment and career development platform, today, May 13, 2025, held a One-Day Capacity-Building Workshop for final-year students of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). Themed “Selected Employability Skills,” the training aimed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and the competencies required for workplace success.
As part of the initiative, the Jobberman delegation, led by Mr. Innih Irhide, Head of Youth Engagement and Learning, paid a Courtesy Visit to the University Management. They were warmly received on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi.
Welcoming the team, the Vice-Chancellor commended Jobberman for its impactful interventions over the years and reaffirmed the University’s readiness to deepen collaboration in areas that enhance graduate outcomes.

The Vice-Chancellor emphasised that FUNAAB was steadily gaining international recognition and must therefore continue to prepare students not just for employment but for global relevance. “We are proud of our students, and we remain committed to equipping them with the soft skills and real-world competencies necessary to thrive beyond the University walls,” he stated.
Also speaking during the event was Prof. Iyabode Kehinde, Alternate Chairperson of the Benchmarking and Employability Committee, who spotlighted FUNAAB’s three-year partnership with DOIT Nigeria Services. She highlighted how the University has consistently supported training and mentorship programmes aimed at improving graduate employability.
In his remarks, Mr. Innih Irhide, Jobberman’s Head, Youth Engagement and Learning, expressed appreciation for the University’s warm reception and reiterated Jobberman’s mission to empower young people with the tools they need to transition smoothly into the world of work. He explained that the current focus on final-year students was part of a larger framework to train, assess, and eventually digitise the delivery of employability skills training for wider accessibility and sustainable impact.

The session featured hands-on training and interactive discussions centred on communication, emotional intelligence, teamwork, and personal branding, including core skills deemed essential for professional success.
The event marked yet another milestone in FUNAAB’s commitment to producing well-rounded graduates who are not only academically sound but also market-ready. With the promise of continuous engagement, the existing partnership between FUNAAB and Jobberman is poised to yield even greater dividends in shaping the future of Nigerian youth.
