The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has partnered with Jubaili Agrotec Limited to educate and sensitise students on modern seed planting techniques and sustainable agricultural practices. The interactive session, held at the Centre for Community-Based Farming Scheme (COBFAS), brought together members of the University Management, staff, and students to explore practical insights into seed technology and agronomic advancement.
Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Olawale Dairo, expressed appreciation to Jubaili Agrotec for its partnership with the University. He noted that such collaborations were critical to achieving FUNAAB’s vision of driving agricultural innovation through strategic industry linkages. The Vice-Chancellor described the initiative as a win-win engagement that enhances student exposure, bridges the gap between theory and practice, and strengthens academia-industry relations. He also commended Jubaili Agrotec for the donation of seed to the University and reiterated FUNAAB’s unwavering commitment to fostering productive partnerships that promote agricultural education and national development.

Earlier, the Director of COBFAS, Prof. Kazeem Bello, stated that the collaboration aligned with the University’s goal of bridging classroom learning with real-world practice. He stressed that the sensitisation exercise would equip students with hands-on experience and awareness of emerging trends in modern agriculture, thereby preparing them to contribute meaningfully to food security and sustainable growth. Prof. Bello expressed gratitude to the University Management and Jubaili Agrotec for supporting the initiative and assured that the programme would be efficiently executed for maximum impact.
The Seed Director of Jubaili Agrotec, Mr. Tijani Yusuf, introduced various products including Veggie Force, Nut Force, Force Up chemicals, and hybrid seeds such as watermelon, tomato, and cucumber varieties treated against bacterial infections. He explained that the demonstration was aimed at exposing students to improved, disease-resistant seeds and proper handling techniques that enhance productivity and yield. Mr. Yusuf reaffirmed the company’s readiness to continue working with FUNAAB in promoting quality agricultural inputs, technology transfer, and modern agronomic practices.
Jubaili Agrotec further strengthened the collaboration by donating quality seeds to support student training and ongoing research efforts within the University.
