The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Professor Olusola Bandele Oyewole has charged Nigerians to imbibe the culture of celebrating together.
Professor Oyewole disclosed this while commissioning the Tantalizers Cafeteria in FUNAAB.
The Vice-Chancellor said the commissioning is an opportunity to celebrate some staff who had worked assiduously to get the University a second position in the recently released Webometric Ranking.
He, however, stated that the Eatery is not for the students alone as staff can come around as well during lunchtime and dine with the students.
According to him, “staff should be free at lunchtime to sit with the students as it is the practice in overseas, where Vice-Chancellors sit with students to have lunch”.
“This is the kind we are trying to replicate here”, the Vice-Chancellor added.
In the meantime, Professor Oyewole has also commended the Management of Tantalizers for employing an ex-student of FUNAAB, Mrs. Ileayo Cherish as FUNAAB Campus Supervisor.
Earlier in his Welcome Address, the Executive Director, Tantalizers, Mr. Gabriel Ojesekhoba described the cafeteria’s foods as affordable, adding that it has been regulated to student/staff friendly prices.
According to him, “all the meals are at very low prices and we are looking forward to a mutually beneficial relationship in the long run”.
Mr. Ojesekhoba however declared that FUNAAB is the 6th University, Tantalizers had partnered with.
