As a way of appreciating hard work and their contribution to the development of the University during their tenure as Registrar and Bursar respectively, the Management has honoured the outgone Registrar, Dr. ‘Bola Adekola, and Bursar, Mr. Chukwunwike Ezekpeazu with an appreciation dinner.
Speaking at the event, the elated former Principal Officers, Dr. Adekola and Mr. Ezekpeazu commended the University Management for establishing a foundation of high moral standards, academic excellence, meritocracy, sincerity, and recognition of hard work within the University.
They expressed gratitude for the warm reception and homecoming organised by the Management, emphasising that the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), is a place where individuals of inner and outer beauty thrive.
On his part, Dr. Adekola noted that he is a living testament to this, as he recalled that he entered FUNAAB without connections, but now, feels at home and considers the University a significant part of his success story.
He added that he used to express nostalgia whenever discussing FUNAAB, as he applauded the Nigeria Institute of Landscape Horticulturists (NILH), for selecting the University as the venue for its 16th National Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM), citing FUNAAB’s superior standards and well-maintained landscape as a yardstick to the selection.
Earlier in his Welcome Address, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, extolled the outgone Registrar and Bursar for their substantial contributions to the University’s development.
The Vice-Chancellor acknowledged their unwavering dedication to the University, as he highlighted their resilience in overcoming obstacles and in shaping the University positively to its current status.
Further appreciation came from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development, Prof. Kola Adebayo; Acting Registrar, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Dawodu; Acting Bursar, Mr. Olukayode Osinuga and the University Librarian, Dr. Abayomi Owolabi.
They commended the outgoing officers for fostering a positive working relationship with all staff members, overcoming challenges, and leaving a lasting impact on the University’s stability and progress.
