The University Management has observed with displeasure that students’ lecture-free periods are no longer being observed on campus by some lecturers.

The Registrar, Dr. Bola Adekola, in a circular to all Academic Staff noted that this has continued to hinder students from engaging in other extra-curricular activities such as religious and sporting engagements and has also been a source of agitation from affected students.

For the sake of emphasis, the Registrar disclosed that the lecture-free periods for students starts by 1.00pm on Wednesdays and 1.00 to 2.30pm  on Fridays.

Consequent on the above, it is therefore to emphasised that all lectures are expected to come to an end by 1.00 p.m. every Wednesday and the period between 1.00 to 2.30 p.m. on Fridays should also be strictly adhered to as lecture-free periods.

In the same vein, the lecture-free week usually granted before the commencement of examinations should as well be observed,in order to enable students to prepare for their examinations.

Dr. Adekola admonished concerned members of staff to ensure strict compliance with the lecture-free periods stated above to enable students to freely engage in extracurricular activities on campus.
