Mr. Olusola Maraiyesa
A Principal Farm Manager in the Teaching and Research Farm Directorate (TREFAD) of the University, Mr. Olusola Maraiyesa, has emerged Chairman, Ogun State Branch of the Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan Alumni Association.
He was elected at the Branch meeting of the Association recently, alongside Mr. M.A Oladunni (Secretary); Mr. A.L Olaoluwa (Financial Secretary); Mr. S. A Popoola (Treasurer) and Mr. S. O Adeyinka (Ex-Officio).
In his Inaugural Speech, Mr. Maraiyesa identified lack of virile support for schools and tertiary institutions by their Alumni Associations as the bane of their development, stressing that desired progress of schools will remain a mirage until Alumni Associations became genuinely committed to the overall development of their Alma mater.
Noting that though the Alumni of the Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan, had persistently contributed their quota, the institution would require more, therefore appealing for more plough-back by members.
Earlier in his Keynote Address, the Chairman of the occasion and Director, Institute of Food Security, Environmental Resources and Agricultural Research (IFSERAR), UNAAB, Prof. Segun Osinowo, described FCA, Moor Plantation as a foremost institution for agricultural research and development, whom its products are, according to him, the nerve-centre of agricultural development in the country.
Also in his brief remarks, the National President of FCA, Alumni Association, Comr. Emmanuel Bankole, who was represented by the National Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr. Lateef Solarin, congratulated the new Executive members on their elections, charging them to unite forces with other branches in moving the national body forward.
