Short Profile

Dr. Oluwatobi T. Somade is a seasoned scholar who has distinguished himself in the field of Biochemistry. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry (Second Class Upper division) from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (2008), a Master’s degree in Biochemistry (Cancer Research and Molecular Biology) from the prestigious University of Ibadan, Ibadan (2011), with a Ph.D. grade and the best graduating student in that area of specialization, and a Ph,D. degree from Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (2024). His experience as a postgraduate student (Master) at Ibadan re-shaped his academic journey and career, which is the genesis of his knowledge and interest in Molecular Toxicology and Chronopharmacology as research specializations. He has over 50 peer reviewed journal articles in mostly Q1, Q2, and Q3 rated journals, whose publishers are Elsevier and Springer Nature. He is a well cited and rated scholar by Scopus, ResearchGate, and Google Scholar. He has served and is still serving as a reviewer for many international journals of repute whose publishers are Elsevier and Springer Nature. He is an Associate Editor of Investigative and Experimental Toxicology (IET), a newly founded journal by Forum of Nigerian Toxicologists (FONTOX). He was a Visiting Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry, Chrisland University, Abeokuta, where he headed the department and served as a member of the University Senate from 2024 to 2026. Dr. O. T. Somade is an active member of 3 professional bodies (NISEB, NSBMB, and FONTOX). He has attended and presented many conference papers locally and attended various workshops and training sessions within the university. He is a lover of God, a Pastor, and married with 3 children.
