To enhance smooth operation, efficient and effective discharge of official assignments, brand new vehicles have been commissioned for the use of the Cassava: Adding Value for Africa II (C:AVA II) Project, as well as the Pension Unit of the University.

While commissioning the C:AVA II vehicles: Toyota Corolla saloon car, Toyota Land Cruiser-Prado Jeep and Toyota Hilux Jeep, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Oyewole, expressed his joy that new things were happening in the University and that such advancements would further propel FUNAAB to competing favourably with leading institutions in the world, as he lauded the Director of Grants Management, who is also the the Project Director, C: AVA II, Dr. Kolawole Adebayo, for his commitments to duties within the short period of time he was appointed in that capacity. Professor Oyewole enumerated some of the remarkable feats recorded by the Directorate to include the successful organisation of a training workshop on proposal writing, which he noted had contributed in no small measure to winning grants for the University.

The Vice-Chancellor appreciated members of the C:AVA II team comprising Professor Adewale Dipeolu and Dr. Idris Ayinde, both of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management amongst others, for their hard work that culminated into attracting funds into the University, as he challenged the team members to work harder towards building a befitting and permanent structure for the Directorate of Grants Management in the University.

In the same vein, the Vice-Chancellor has commissioned another Toyota Corolla saloon car procured for the Pension Unit of the University. While presenting the keys to the Supervisor of the Pension Unit and Deputy Director, Establishment Matters (Senior), Mrs. Oluwatoyin Dawodu, the Vice-Chancellor observed that this was the second vehicle he will be handing-over to the Pension Unit within one year. Professor Oyewole, however, said he was glad to be commissioning brand new vehicles and not ‘tokunbo’ (used) vehicles, as he prayed that the University will continue to wax stronger.
