Exactly, Seven Months and Nine Days in office, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Bandele Oyewole on Wednesday, the First Working day of the year reeled out a catalogue of achievements of his Administration.
Speaking at a Prayer Session ushering the University to a new year (2013), Professor Oyewole said God had been so good to the Management such that it had completed twelve (12) out of the 25 projects he inherited from the previous administration.
He explained that out of the remaining 13 uncompleted projects, the IFSERAR office building has been completed while work on others are at advance stage.
According to Professor Oyewole, the completed projects include: The 2000-Capacity Professor Mahmood Yakubu Lecture Theatre; The 500-Seater Central Computer Laboratory; Zoological Garden; New Female Hostel, Block C; New Female Hostel, Block D; and The University Souvenir Centre.
The Vice-Chancellor attributed the achievements of the Management so far to God divine support and enablement since he assumed office.
He thanked all the past Councils, Vice-Chancellors of the University and the present Management team, Senate, leaders of Staff and Student Union, the entire Staff and Students for their cooperation, describing them as the best among equals.
He charged them to make honesty, hardwork, fairness and justice their hallmark while discharging their duties this year.
The Vice-Chancellor, who seized the opportunity to congratulate members of the University community on the University 25th Anniversary which began on January 1 informed that programmes marking it will be table for Senate’s consideration and approval later in the day.
Professor Oyewole disclosed that FUNAAB will move to greater heights in 2013 based on assurance by JEHOVAH God and commitment of his administration.
He declared that the journey to making FUNAAB a world-class University had started, soliciting the support and cooperation of the staff and students towards achieving it.
Earlier in his Exhortation, Rev. Tunde Amosun of Rock Foundation Church, Abeokuta charged the Management, Staff and Students to make significant contributions that will outlive their membership of the University as staff or students.
Special prayers for protections, blessings, progress, peace, among others were offered for the University Management, the Vice-Chancellor and his family, the Chancellor and Governing Council, Staff and Students, among others.
