The Nimbe Adedipe Library of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has recorded a significant professional milestone as nine of its staff were formally inducted as Certified Librarians of Nigeria (CLN) by the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) at the 2025 induction ceremony held in Ibadan.
The induction followed the successful completion of the prescribed professional examinations, signifying that the Librarians have met the required academic, professional and ethical standards for practice. The LRCN certification enhances professional credibility, promotes continuous professional development and strengthens the quality of information service delivery in academic and research libraries across the country.
Addressing the newly inducted Librarians, the University Librarian, Prof. Abayomi Owolabi described the achievement as both an honour and a call to higher responsibility. He urged them to maintain a positive mindset, uphold professional ethics and contribute more meaningfully to the University through dedication to duty, innovation in service delivery and effective support for teaching, learning and research.
Those inducted from the Nimbe Adedipe Library are: Adebamiro N. (CLN), Anifiowose (CLN), Koleade T. (CLN), Ogunsola R. (CLN), Omotosho O. (CLN), Owolabi J. (CLN), Solanke R. (CLN), Sodiya A. (CLN) and Oyero M. (CLN).
The achievement not only brings pride to the individuals concerned but also strengthens the professional standing of the Nimbe Adedipe Library and enhances FUNAAB’s image within the academic community.
