The National Universities Commission (NUC) Accreditation Team for the Geology Programme at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has successfully concluded its tasks. The Team, comprised Prof. Halidu Hamza, Prof. Ayo Aderogbin, and Mr. John Abalu, diligently evaluated the Programme’s academic and infrastructural offerings.
During their visit, the Team conducted an in-depth assessment of the curriculum, college qualifications, teaching facilities, laboratory equipment, library resources, and student support systems. Their engagement also included interactions with college members, students, and administrative staff, as well as on-site inspections of the Department’s physical infrastructure.
In his closing remarks, the Team Lead, Prof. Halidu Hamza, commended the University’s commitment to academic excellence and highlighted areas of strength within the Programme. He also provided constructive feedback on areas that require further enhancement to align with NUC standards.
Receiving the Team during the Exit Meeting, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development, Prof. Kola Adebayo expressed gratitude for the thoroughness of their work and reaffirmed FUNAAB’s dedication to continuous improvement. “We remain committed to upholding the highest standards of education and ensuring our students are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in their fields,” he said.
The visit marks another milestone in FUNAAB’s pursuit of academic distinction, with the outcome of the accreditation process eagerly anticipated by the University Community.
