… Pays Courtesy Call on Vice-Chancellor

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), today, November 13, 2025, received a delegation from the National Universities Commission (NUC), on an accreditation visit for the University’s proposed Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme.
The visit, which marks a key step towards the commencement of the MBA programme in FUNAAB, was aimed at assessing the University’s level of preparedness and compliance with NUC’s academic standards.
Welcoming the team on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Olawale Dairo, expressed appreciation for the visit and extended warm greetings to the Team Lead, Prof. Bello Bala.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that the University places a premium on transparency and credibility in all its dealings, stating, “At FUNAAB, we do not do window dressing. We have always been open and honest with NUC teams in our engagements.” He assured the delegation that they would see the true reflection of the University’s readiness during their assessment and expressed optimism for a favourable outcome.
In his response, the Team Lead, Prof. Bello Bala, commended FUNAAB for its warm reception and the level of preparation observed. He emphasised that the purpose of the visit was not punitive but to ensure quality assurance, exchange ideas, and offer constructive recommendations that would enhance the University’s academic offerings.
He also appreciated the Management of FUNAAB for the hospitality extended to his team, assuring that the NUC would carry out its evaluation with professionalism and fairness.

Present at the meeting were the University Librarian, Prof. Abayomi Owolabi; Deputy Registrar I, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Mr. Moses Ayanda; Dean, College of Entrepreneurial and Development Studies (COLENDS), Prof. Olabisi Jayeola; Director, Directorate of Academic Planning (DAP), Prof. Olajide Sogunle; Director, Directorate of Technologists and Technical Staff (DITTECS), Dr. Wunmi Abimbola-Okunneye; Head, Department of Business Administration, Prof. Abiodun Joachim; and Coordinator, MBA Programme, Dr. Anthony Oshadare, among others.
Members of the NUC Accreditation Team accompanying Prof. Bello Bala were Prof. Dibua Chijioke and Mrs. Priscilla Okojie.
