The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) is currently hosting the National Universities Commission (NUC) Accreditation Team for the evaluation of its academic programmes in Mathematics, Food Science and Technology (FST), and Statistics, among others. The exercise, which spans November and December 2024, underscores the University’s commitment to maintaining high academic excellence.
The Accreditation Panels for Mathematics and FST paid a Courtesy Visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, on November 18, 2024. Welcoming the NUC Team, Prof. Kehinde lauded their efforts in upholding quality assurance through accreditation and highlighted the University’s dedication to its core mandates of Teaching, Research, and Extension Services. He emphasised FUNAAB’s commitment to maintaining high standards and invited constructive feedback to further enhance the University’s quality.
Speaking on behalf of the NUC Team, Prof. Benjamin Agaba expressed appreciation for the warm reception, stating that the evaluation was geared towards providing guidance and support to foster educational excellence rather than mere criticism.
Meanwhile, today, November 19, 2024, the NUC Accreditation Team for Statistics also paid a Courtesy Visit to the University, where they were received by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, representing the Vice-Chancellor. The FST Accreditation Team conducted its Wrap-Up Session the same day, also hosted by Prof. Akinyemi.
The visits represent a significant opportunity for FUNAAB to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to providing top-tier academic programmes, impactful research, and quality-driven education.
