Hon. Prof. (Mrs.) Olubukola Oyawoye, addressing the University Management
The Executive Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has commended the serene and well landscaped University campus of FUNAAB. Speaking through the Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Honourable Professor (Mrs.) Olubukola Oyawoye, who paid the Vice-Chancellor a Courtesy call, the Governor encouraged FUNAAB to continue to lead other Universities in the country, particularly in the area of agriculture. According to him, “FUNAAB is a practical University, we would like to be proud of anywhere in the world”.
Clarifying the incessant communication gap between the town and gown, the Governor said, “I will in no way create a gap between the academic and the town”, stating achievement of Ogbeni Aregbesola’s administration in th field of education, technology, youth empowerment, environmental sanitation, security of lives and properties,
The Governor express the desire of his administration to initiate a collaboration between Osun State and FUNAAB in the areas of food processing and preservation.
Welcoming the Governor’s representative to FUNAAB, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Oyewole who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, (Development), Professor Felix Salako admired the Commissioner’s oratory skills, adding that one could testify to the fact that she is indeed an intellectual. He said that everyone is aware of the current innovation in the education sector in Osun State, where all secondary school students were given Mini Laptops (tablets) popularly called ‘Opon Imo’ in the Yoruba language.
