The National Pension Commission (PenCom) is organising a verification and enrolment exercise for employees in the service of the Federal Government that are due for retirement between January and December 2016, by virtue of their attainment of the retiring age of 65 years for Non-teaching Staff and 70 years for Academic Staff in tertiary institutions, such as FUNAAB.
According to the University Registrar, Mr. Mathew Ayoola, all former staff of the University, who had either voluntarily retired or withdrawn their services but are yet to be verified and enrolled by the National Pension Commission (PenCom) are to contact the Principal Assistant Registrar (Pension) in the University with a view to participating in the retirement Benefit Enrolment Exercise, to be held this year. Also, staff who intend to retire voluntarily from the services of the University between January and December 2016 are requested to contact the Senior Assistant Registrar (Pension), to enable them participate in the retirement Benefit Enrolment Exercise.
The Registrar charged all affected former staff and staff that intend to either retire voluntarily or withdraw their service in 2016, to make use of the opportunity of the exercise to enroll under the scheme.
